Interior Design Schools and Designer Programs
Thinking about an Interior Design career path?
A professional interior designer is qualified by education and experience to identify, research and creatively solve problems relative to the function and quality of the indoor environment as it relates to our living space. Their competency includes design and analysis, space planning and programming, the design of all interior spaces and an understanding of other and related aspects of environmental design.
Like other art or architecture programs, the upper-level interior design classes are taught in a studio where students work on drafting tables that are needed for large-scale drawings or drafting. The field of interior design is very different than interior decoration.
Interior design career paths include residential, commercial, and resort applications, and are often an integral part of the pre-construction or redevelopment stage of projects.
There are over 130 accredited Interior Design programs available. Please request information for the programs listed to find the right education for you and your future.
